Our Deepest Fear

With 2012 fast approaching, and inevitable resolutions being drawn up, we should strive to ensure that 2012 is a year of following through with our goals and our dreams–a year of no excuses so that GOD willing, when the end of 2012 approaches, the resolutions for 2013 will not simply be a repeat of the resolutions for 2012. The following excerpt from Marianne Williamson should be a good starting point to help us realize our full potentials and make a mark before our time on this earth is up…

“Our Deepest Fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I
To be brilliant, gorgeous, talented & fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.
There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking
So that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

You were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
And as we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.”

-Marianne Williamson, Return to Love, 1992
